Introducing Baby Tori

"Hands on a miracle, I got my hands on a miracle." -- Foo Fighters

When I decided to relaunch the City of Kik blog, I promised myself to commit to writing an entry every night. I've been pretty good with keeping that goal, but those of you who are regular followers of this online journal but don't know me in the real world may have wondered what happened to me this weekend since I didn't post anything since Friday. The answer is my wife and I had a baby! My wife had been scheduled for a cesarean-section delivery next week, but Baby Tori had plans of her own. She was born Sunday morning at 4:45 a.m, and both mother and baby are doing fine!

Saturday was a gorgeous day in New York and I had taken my wife Juliana for a golf-cart tour of the beautiful Botanical Garden. Not only did I love being in such an amazing place during such a fantastic day with my soulmate, the setting also inspired ideas for my writing (scenes for my Yeshua screenplay, ideas for my Sons of the Eagle stageplay, and chapters for my fantasy series of short stories The Edenfalls Chronicles). We had a great, romantic, and relaxing day to remember -- it became even more memorable later that evening when she began feeling contractions and her water broke! I won't go into all the details, but it was a night I'll never forget.

As much as I love the worlds of make-believe and what they bring to our lives, nothing compares to the magic of real-life experiences like the miraculous birth of a child.

Congratulations, Kik! What wonderful news.

Don't worry. You'll have plenty of pretend over the next many years while Tori explores the real world.
