"Nine is a vibrant and provocative musical." -- Apple.com
Titles are important -- they need to be catchy, memorable, and distinct. I hate using numbers in titles, but it seems like folks love naming their movies, books, albums, television shows after a number. Nine seems to be the current leader in popularity. There are so many Nines out there that I was getting confused!
The big one is Nine the musical adaptation of the hit Broadway show from the makers of Chicago. Based on the movie 8 1/2, it stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Dame Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, and Sofia Loren.
There's a cartoon called 9 about rag dolls, voiced by Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, Martin Landau, Crispin Glover, and Christopher Plummer.
What I'm really looking forward to is District 9 produced by Peter Jackson about aliens living among us.
There is also a horror movie named Nine. Plus last year's flop TV show The Nine and the memorable Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Maybe writers can be a little more creative and come up with titles that don't include a number.
