Great Weekend at the Garden

Quote of the Day: "Bam!" -- Emeril Lagasse

I'm working this Saturday and Sunday (September 12 and 13) for the finale weekend of The New York Botanical Garden's summer-long event, The Edible Garden. Despite the drizzly rain, it was a great experience, with Emeril Lagasse headlining a day of cooking demonstrations and more.

My family was there, enjoying the festivities. They loved the free samples by all the terrific vendors in the Terrace Tastings, the book signings at the Cookbook Collective, the cooking demos at the Anolon booths by students from the Culinary Institute of America, and at the Conservatory Kitchen by Bill Telepan, Marco Canora, Mario Bosquez, and of course Emeril Lagasse.

Sunday will be another great day, featuring Lidia Bastianich, Daisy Martinez, and Ariane Daguin. If you haven't purchased tickets yet, there's still time, so visit NYBG.org for more info. And if you miss The Edible Garden, check out some of the other great exhibitions and programs coming up.
