I'm a sucker for reality show competitions and anything with celebrities, so of course I'm looking forward to the next edition of Celebrity Apprentice, scheduled to air in Spring 2010 on NBC.  This will be the ninth season of the Donald Trump franchise, and in my opinion, the celebrity versions are the most entertaining.

The contestants have been announced and it looks like, once again, we'll have some interesting personalities to watch as they battle it out to be the last entrepreneur standing.  Previous winners have been Piers Morgan and Joan Rivers, beating out challengers like Gene Simmons, Lennox Lewis, Vincent Pastore, Jesse G. James, Dennis Rodman, Tom Green, Clint Black, Scott Hamilton, Andrew Dice Clay, and others.

The new contestants will be:

Rod Blagojevich - former Governor of Illinois

Selita Ebanks - fashion model

Bill Goldberg - actor and former professional wrestler

Michael Johnson - former Olympic sprinter

Maria Kanellis - WWE wrestler and model

Cyndi Lauper - singer, actress, and 1980s pop star

Carol Leifer - comedian and television writer

Bret Michaels - lead singer of Poison

Sharon Osbourne - star of The Osbournes and judge on America's Got Talent

Holly Robinson Peete - actress, singer, and author

Summer Sanders - sports broadcaster, actress, and retired Olympic gold medalist swimmer

Sinbad - actor and comedian

Curtis Stone - celebrity chef

Darryl Strawberry - former Major League Baseball player

Some shows, like The Surreal Life, have focused on "where are they now" celebrities, while other reality shows have used pseudo-celebrities that many people have never even heard about.  The great thing about Celebrity Apprentice is that the premise of the show and the weekly challenges test the fame, connections, and business savvy of the contestants, and you see the cream of the crop rise to the top.  I'm looking forward to the new season and whatever surprises it might bring.
