The original action-adventure TV series dealt with a renegade soldiers using their talents to help people in need. As the opening credit voice-over explained: "In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team." The new film makes the characters veterans of the war in Iraq.
The new version is directed by Joe Carnahan who gave us Smokin' Aces with a screenplay by Michael Brandt who also scribed the scripts for Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma, and 2 Fast 2 Furious.
The A-Team is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 11, 2010.
