Sci-Fi Radio Drama Brought to Life on Stage

Today I had the pleasure of performing in a fun stage production of The Amazing Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon...and Dale Arden, adapted from the 1930s radio drama series and directed by Christopher Arena.  The show was held at the Ossie Davis Theater in New Rochelle, New York, where they're also having a Science Fiction/Fantasy art exhibit called Utopioptix on display in the Lumen Winter Gallery at the New Rochelle Public Library.

I played the role of the goofy and clueless Sound Effects Man.  My fellow cast members included Stephen J. Kraus as the Announcer, Keith Maxwell as Flash Gordon, Courtney Rost as Dale Arden, Larry Reina as Dr. Zarkov, Philip Orawski as Ming the Merciless, Toni Fazio as Princess Aura, and Quint Spitzer as the Chorus.

The show was presented by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts in association with the New Rochelle Downtown BID Family Days Series.  It was truly a play for the kid in all of us.
