Carol Burnett Should Host Saturday Night Live

Following the very successful campaign to get Betty White to host Saturday Night Live, the next veteran star to get the Facebook rally treatment is the legendary Carol Burnett.  Already over 70,000 fans have expressed their desire to see the talented queen of comedy host a future episode of SNL

Burnett was doing sketch comedy on television long before Saturday Night Live was even a dream in Lorne Michaels' and Dick Ebersol's minds.  Born in 1933, she has had a long and illustrious career.  She has won Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Award, nominated recently for her guest role on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, showcasing her dramatic acting skills on top of her already established comedic resume.

Betty White proved that comedy is not just a young person's game.  It's great to see a whole new young audience exposed to the comic skills of the masters who came before and are still with us.  I hope Saturday Night Live continues to tap the talent pool of the older generation.
