What Do You Think of Michael Jackson's New Single?

It was only a matter of time before unreleased musical recordings by Michael Jackson, who died in 2009, became public.  Jackson's official Web site released the new song, "Breaking News," today.  The single will be part of the all-new album, titled simply Michael, which will debut on December 14, 2010.  The new song was apparently "recorded in New Jersey in 2007."

Posthumous releases of songs by dead celebrities are nothing new -- Tupac Shakur, for example, has had more albums released after his death than he did when he was alive.

Believe it or not, Sony Music Entertainment, in collaboration with the Jackson Estate, is planning to release seven posthumous Michael Jackson albums through 2017 -- a new album every year for the next seven years, all allegedly compiled from snippets of recordings the King of Pop made and never released during his lifetime.

We shall see if the new songs are worthy of Jackson's legacy or just a tasteless attempt to continue to cash in on Jackson's career even after death.
