feature film based on Charles Shultz's beloved Peanuts comic strip is scheduled to hit theaters near you in 2015. Blue Sky Studios (the computer animation pros who gave us Ice Age, Robots, Horton Hears a Who, and my daughter's current favorite movie Rio) and 20th Century Fox Animation have reached an agreement with the Shultz estate and are producing a feature-length animated motion picture. Fans of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Woodstock, Pigpen, Peppermint Patty, and the rest will soon see their favorite characters on the silver screen, part of the recent revitalization of the brand after the death of its creator who died in 2000). At least it looks like it won't follow the misguided trend of turning the strip (and the many wonderful television cartoons based on the property) into a live-action travesty. My fingers are crossed that they will stay faithful to the original work.
