Reward for Proof of Bigfoot

Spike TV is collaborating with Lloyd's of London to offer a $10,000,000 bounty for proof that the legendary Bigfoot exists. Before all of you adventure seekers head out to the woods of the American Northwest to find the elusive creature and claim your prize, you should know that this is for a reality show suitably titled 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty in which teams of explorers will travel across the country to find evidence of the monster.

I've enjoyed Bigfoot ever since I was a kid and saw Andre the Giant and Ted Cassidy play a bionic alien version in various episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman. There was also a great Saturday morning TV show called Bigfoot and Wildboy.  In the years that followed, there have been comedies like the big screen Harry and the Hendersons and campy television movies such as Syfy's Bigfoot starring Danny Bonaduce and Barry Williams, not to mention countless pseudo-documentaries such as the classic In Search of Bigfoot, Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot, and episodes of various series, such as MonsterQuest.

What will Spike TV consider positive proof of Bigfoot's existence? Are Canadians searching for Sasquatch or folks in the Himalayas seeking the Yeti or Abominable Snowman also eligible? Since previous evidence, even the famous film by Patterson-Gimlin was revealed to be a hoax, I can't imagine that anything short of capturing the mythic beast would win anyone the multi-million dollar prize. A man from Montana was actually killed after being struck by two cars on a highway as he attempted to stage another Bigfoot hoax.

I just hope the series is more interesting than just a lame reality show following people walking through the forest finding...nothing.
