Gift Ideas for the Fiction Lover on Your Holiday List

Are you looking for a good book to give to that special somone in your life who loves to read a great story?  Here are three suggestions.

Besa by Louis Romano is set in my home neighborhood in the Bronx and deals with a blood feud as Albanian-Americans try to avenge the murder of one of their own. While I typically shun the depiction of my "people" as gangster stereotypes, this novel has some great characters, both sympathetic and sinister (and some actually quite familiar), making it a fun read.

Heartless Cruelty by Richard Goffman is a gripping mystery set in the Jersey Shore town of Atlantis, with a high school teacher as its hero! It's the first in a proposed series, and I can't wait for more! This is a marvelous pageturner that will delight anyone seeking a good story.

The Plot to Save Socrates by Paul Levinson is a fantastic science fiction adventure, featuring time travel and ancient history, with exciting plot twists and thought-provoking ideas.

If you have additional recommendations of your own, please let me know.  Happy reading (and gift-giving)!
