Remembering Doctor Who

Tune in to BBC America on Sunday at 2 p.m. New York time to see Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor. The latest actor to play the beloved Time Lord will be revealed!

The first Doctor Who that I watched as a kid starred Tom Baker. I'd catch the episodes on Public Television, and even though I've enjoyed all the others who played him, Tom will always reign as one of the best. Back then there wasn't much new science fiction on television to feed our imaginations, so the exploits of the Fourth Doctor were gold. 

It is nothing short of epic that the show has earned such a foothold on popular culture and continues the adventures it began back in 1963 with new episodes still on the horizon.
