13th Movies in a Series

As I write this, it's the evening of another Friday the 13th.  Hopefully, all of you had a lucky day to prove the superstitious lot among us wrong.  I thought it would be a cool idea to look up long-running movie series and list the thirteenth film.  I was surprised that the Jason Voorhees slasher horror series Friday the 13th only had 12 chapters (counting Freddy vs. Jason and the 2009 reboot). Star Trek also only had twelve motion pictures, so the next one will be thirteen!  Pink Panther only needs two more. The old Ma and Pa Kettle series that most of you have never heard of before had ten movies in the series.  Others have a way to go to get there: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Harry Potter, Superman, Batman, and Star Wars.

Here's the list I compiled.

Abbott and Costello - Lost in a Harem

Andy Hardy - Andy Hardy's Double Life

Bulldog Drummond - Bull Drummond in Africa

Carry On (British) - Don't Lose Your Head

Godzilla (Japanese) - Godzilla vs. Megalon

James Bond - Octopussy

The Three Stooges - Rockin' in the Rockies

Tora-San (Japanese) -  Tora-San's Lovesick

Zatoichi (Japanese) - Zatoichi's Vengeance

There have been so many versions by different producers of Frankenstein, Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, and Agatha Christie's Miss Marple that it was practically impossible to figure out which rendition was actually the thirteenth in the series.

Have I left any out?  Let me know.
