Hooked on Chromecast

Amazon just officially entered the growing streaming video market with Fire TV, which will allow users to view multimedia content on their big-screen home entertainment systems. Competitors like Roku and Apple TV have their supporters, but I've been a huge fan of Google's Chromecast.

It's more affordable than the others, and much more compact (the size of a thumb drive, no extra box-top necessary). In terms of ease of use, it only took me a few minutes to set it up to my high-definition television and start watching YouTube, HuluPlus, HBOGo, Vevo, Pandora, Netflix, and other content providers.

As the technology improves and more licensing partnerships emerge that will allow audiences to access multimedia from all channels on their own schedules, it surely will be the way of the future for media consumption.
