Danger: Low Frequency

It was only a matter of time before my new blog posting schedule would bite me in the derriere. I started City of Kik with the intention of posting every single day, and for the first few years I managed to do that. The regular frequency (and hopefully some of the actual content) earned me a following that reached over half a million hits and other benefits. I'm now teaching classes on "Writing for Online Media" and "Public Relations" thanks to my blog. Earlier this year I decided to cut back on the frequency of my posts so I could focus my time and effort on my other writing projects. I don't regret making more time for other writing, but posting less is hurting the rankings of my blog on search engines and slowing viewership on my homepage to a crawl.  You know things are bad when it starts impacting your pocket, and the only monetary profit I was making from City of Kik was through Amazon Kindle downloads. After steadily going up and being ranked as one of the top blogs before the frequency change, subscriptions there have now dropped.

The solution, therefore, is obvious.  It's a no-brainer that I need to pick up the frequency, so I will post more regularly, while still dedicating my energy to my other responsibilities.

I've always stressed the importance and power of frequent posts. This proves it to me.

I thank all of you who keep coming back for more. I'll do my best not to disappoint.
