Body Switching Movies and TV Episodes

I thought this was going to be a quick post. Boy, was I wrong! When one of my friends recommended I watch The Change-Up, a body-switching comedy, I remembered the similarly themed movies I'd seen and thought it would be fun to list them all. Then I started doing the research and, man oh man, this is one over-used cliche!

Even when I left out movies in which two people didn't switch bodies, they just became older versions of themselves, like Big or 13 Going on 30, there were plenty of other legitimate mind swapping motion pictures out there.

I left out comic books, so no Superior Spider-man in which Doctor Octopus becomes Spidey.

I included a couple of TV shows that managed to use the premise well, but I had to leave a whole bunch out (8 Simple Rules, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Adventure Time, American Dad!, Angel, Boy Meets Girl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Community, Eureka, Family Guy, Farscape, The Flintstones, Futurama, Glee, Haven, Highway to Heaven, I Dream of Jeannie, Justice League Unlimited, Night Gallery, The Prisoner, The Simpsons, Smallville, The Smurfs, Supernatural, The X-Files, my fingers hurt typing all that and I didn't even scratch the surface!). Did I mention the body switching story has been used a lot?

Then I tossed out some foreign films about the subject that most people wouldn't recognize anyway (Alison's Birthday, Dating the Enemy, Dogmatic, Ghost Graduation, Help I'm a Boy, Here Comes the Bride, Just Follow Law, Put a Man Into Your Life, The Secret) and movies in which the mind swap wasn't the main part of the plot like Scooby-Doo or like Face/Off which wasn't technically a body swap, and I was finally left with this still long but somewhat manageable list. Enjoy!
