Upfront Report 2016 - NBC

NBC has announced its new shows for 2016/2017.  Here's a look at what's coming up (some as early as June, others in the Fall, and the rest as possible mid-season replacements.)  We'll be seeing a good dose of spin-offs and adaptations on the Peacock Network.

Beloved celebrities "of a certain age" Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, and George Foreman travel across Asia.

Famke Janssen stars in this spin-off series.


The Celebrity Apprentice
Arnold Schwarzenegger takes the hosting baton from Donald Trump for this new version of the popular reality competition series. The B-level celebs this time include Laila Ali, Boy George, Jon Lovitz, Vince Neil, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Carnie Wilson, and more.


Chicago Justice
The Chicago franchise continues, this time from the point of view of prosecutors, with Carl Weathers as one of the stars.


First Dates
Produced by Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Barrymore narrates this voyeuristic look at real first romantic outings at a Chicago Restaurant.

Andrea Martin plays an older intern at a television station where her daughter works as a news producer.


Emerald City
Vincent D'Onofrio is the Wizard in this long-awaited latest Oz reboot, this one directed by Tarsem Singh.


The Good Place
Kristen Bell enters the afterlife, where she meets her afterlife mentor, Ted Danson.


Marlon
Marlon Wayans stars in a sitcom loosely based on his own family life.


Midnight Texas
Meet vampires, witches, psychics, and hitmen in this adaptation of the book series by Charlaine Harris (whose imagination also gave us True Blood.)


Powerless
Hyped as the "first comedy set in the DC comics universe," Vanessa Hudgens is an insurance adjustor working with clients who face damages due to the actions of super-powered crimefighters.


Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge
Competitors vie for a $250,000 prize as they face the world's most demanding obstacle courses.

Here's a prequel of the Liam Neeson movie series in which we'll learn how that C.I.A. operative (now played by Clive Standen of Vikings) acquired his "particular set of skills."

Lives cross in this dramedy starring Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, and Sterling K. Brown.

Produced by LeBron James and hosted by Chris Hardwick, contestants face up against a 40-foot wall in this gameshow competition.
